Weather & Insect Emergence

The weather over the last week was close to normal for this time of year, except that northern Illinois was slightly cooler. At this point, insect development with growing degree days of a base temperature of 50 degrees F indicates that southern and central Illinois is about two and one-half weeks ahead of the historical average and northern Illinois is about one week early.
